Basils Farm Events
Basils Farm provides the ideal location for special events and educational workshops. Enjoy outdoor activities such as self-guided walks, food foraging in the native conservation land, or join one of our regular permaculture gardening or art workshops. For food and wine lovers, we also hold dinners with winemaker Ray Nadeson, cooking classes with guest chefs and wine and food matching experiences.
Basils Farm is also the perfect choice for those looking for a venue with a difference. With stunning views across Swan Bay to Queenscliff, the grassed area and Basils Cafe are available to book for corporate wine tastings and private group events. Weddings Please note we are currently not holding weddings on the property. We plan to hold weddings from late 2018. We would be pleased to forward a copy of our packages once they are available. You can register your interest at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Private Functions, Corporate Events and Catering Basils Farm can accommodate private functions in the Cafe (out of regular business hours) and in our large outdoor marquee (all hours). School Holiday FUN at Basils Farm!
Basils Kids in the Garden – 7th July.
Get the smallest members of the family out in the garden! In this gardening workshop kids can learn how to start a garden, plant some veggies and feed the farm animals. Also includes a light lunch, take home notes and seeds.
Parents are welcome to come along or join their children for lunch and enjoy our “Locals Lunch” offer for $30, which includes a delicious meal from our seasonal monthly menu and a glass of wine.
Date: Friday 7th July.
Cost: $35 per child. Limited to 15 participants, aged 5-10 years.
Please advise of the number of children booking, ages of the children, dietary requirements, allergies or special needs and provide your phone number. Please also let us know if you will be joining your child for lunch or wish to make a separate lunch booking with friends.
Please note we also require 1 adult per 3 children to be present at Basils Farm.
Feed the Farm Animals at Basils Farm
Visit Basils Farm over the school holidays and meet and feed the farm animals; including llamas, chickens, sheep and ducks.
Dates: Every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during the school holidays. (Wednesday 5th, Thursday 6th, Friday 7th, Wednesday 12th, Thursday 13th and Friday 14th).
Date: Friday 7th July.
Time: 11.30am, duration approximately 30 mins.
Cost: Free! Age Suitability: 3-12 years. Under 5 years require adult supervision.
Please note we will not be conducting public feedings over the weekends, apart from the Winter Shiraz Weekend (8th & 9th July) at 2.30pm.
Winter Shiraz Weekend – 8th & 9th July
We warmly invite you to join us for the Geelong Winegrowers – Winter Shiraz Weekend. Basils Farm will be joining in the festivities on Saturday & Sunday, from 8 am to 5 pm. Stay cosy by the open fire inside the Café or enjoy a glass of our wild fermented wine around the firepit outside, as you take in the stunning views over Swan Bay. FOOD & WINE Start your day with a hearty Basils Farm breakfast from 8am-11am or join us for lunch in the Café from 12-4pm. Lunch Menu: In addition to our popular antipasto platters and seasonal a la carte menu, we will have a weekend special, featuring two Shiraz inspired dishes.
- Local Prime Rib of Beef slowly roasted to medium, with Chive Mash, Pink Peppercorn Sauce and Roasted Parsnips, $34 (GF).
- Smoky Oxtail and Winter Vegetable Broth served with Garlic, Caramelised Onion and Cheese Loaf, $25. (GF bread on request).

Join Basils Farm Gardener Ben or Farm Manager Igor for a fun filled hour in the Potager Garden in our ‘Pop Up’ Gardening Workshop. Chat about what’s in season, get gardening tips and advice and pick some fresh produce. We then sit down in the cafe for a delicious lunch and a glass of wine and further opportunity for gardening Q&A.
Date: Friday 28th July.
Time: 11 am – 12 pm, workshop in the garden and 12 pm – 1 pm, lunch/discussion.
Cost: $50 includes 1-hour workshop, lunch and a glass of wine.
