Basils Farm Events

Basils Farm provides the ideal location for special events and educational workshops. Enjoy outdoor activities such as self-guided walks, food foraging in the native conservation land, or join one of our regular gardening or art workshops.

For food and wine lovers, we also hold dinners with winemaker Ray Nadeson, cooking classes with guest chefs and wine and food matching experiences.

Basils Farm is also the perfect choice for those looking for a venue with a difference. With stunning views across Swan Bay to Queenscliff, the grassed area and Basils Cafe are available to book for corporate wine tastings and private group events.

Weddings  We can currently hold weddings of up to 120 guests on the property. For further details please visit our Functions page.

Private Functions, Corporate Events and Catering Basils Farm can accommodate private functions in the Cafe (out of regular business hours) and in our large outdoor marquee (all hours). Basils Farm “Sunday Sessions” Acoustic Music.

From September through to the end of April 2018 relax to the tunes of our talented Sunday Sessions musicians. We have a great lineup of acoustic artists playing a variety of genres ranging from blues through to modern-day favourites.

Entry is free however as weekends tend to be busy, bookings are essential.

Time: 12:30 to 3:30 PM every Sunday, September to April.

This Mother’s Day treat Mum to a special 3-course menu, served banquet style for all to enjoy! Mum will also receive a beautiful rose to take home.

Mother’s Day Menu

Farmhouse Platter including: Victorian Salami, house-smoked pastrami & salmon, duck liver, thyme, Basils pinot pate, Enterprize double brie, olives, homegrown and local pickled and roasted vegetables, served with bread and dips.  (Platter items are subject to change depending on seasonal availability).

Roasted Pork Belly with cider jus, sausage, sage and onion stuffing balls, confit potatoes and roasted autumn vegetables.

Lemongrass and ginger baked market fish with crushed potatoes.

Served with sautéed greens from the Basils Farm garden.

Vegetarian Option
Zucchini, carrot and cauliflower filo with gruyere cheese and leek sauce, and fennel braised lentils.

Mains are served for the group to share, banquet style. 

A selection of homemade cakes and tea or coffee.

$20 Children (under 12 years)

**Please note: For seatings of 8 people and greater, 2 mains will be served banquet style. Bookings of less than 8 people will be able to select one choice of main for the table to share.

Basil’s Farm Seasonal Edible Gardening Workshops

Everything you need to know to grow healthy and fresh organic food throughout the seasons. Utilising sustainable practices, drawing on the skill of our in-house gardening guru Igor (Farm Manager) to help turn your garden into one of abundance, health, and beauty!

Autumn Gardening Workshop – Saturday 28th April.

Autumn is always a fun season to get in the garden, the weather is usually mild and it’s rewarding to know that by giving you patch a little extra love now you will reap the rewards in the months ahead!
Some of the topics we plan to cover in this workshop include:
·      Irrigation.
·      Soil care and nutrition.
·      Espaliering. 
·      Plant selection and autumn plantings.
·      Organic fertilisers.
·      Autumn propagation (semi-hardwood cuttings and division) berry fruits, herb harvesting and drying and autumn tasks in the garden.

Time: 10 am – 12 noon.
Price: $40 pp.

A ‘Pinot Affair’ is a true celebration of our Geelong’s finest Pinot Noir.  It is an exciting inaugural wine tasting event showcasing the world-class cool climate Pinot Noir of the Bellarine, Surf Coast, and Moorabool Valley in the heart of Geelong.

Featuring 20+ producers from the Geelong region offering Pinot Noir tastings, guests will be treated to live music within an elegantly styled marquee, boasting gorgeous floral displays.  A perfect day out for the wine enthusiast to enjoy the finest Geelong Pinot Noir, under the one roof.

Wine Geelong values bringing the community together and this event will be a pass in /pass out event, allowing ticket holders to enjoy the array of delicious restaurants and eatery’s along the newly revitalised West End precinct.
