Basils Farm provides the ideal location for special events and educational workshops. Enjoy outdoor activities such as self-guided walks, food foraging in the native conservation land, or join one of our regular gardening or art workshops. For food and wine lovers, we also hold wine & food matching experiences with winemaker Ray Nadeson and wine tasting events throughout the year. Basils Farm is also the perfect choice for those looking for a venue with a difference. With stunning views across Swan Bay to Queenscliff, the grassed area and Basils Cafe are available to book for corporate wine tastings and private group events. Weekend Winter Warmers at Basils Farm.

It doesn’t get much better than a warming mulled wine on a chilly day! Enjoy a glass for $10. Why not add a delicious tasting platter to enjoy fireside or dine in the Cafe? Available all day. Bookings recommended for Cafe dining.

**After 2pm Special Offer**Purchase a tasting platter to share and add a bottle of wine for $60 OR a small platter and 2 glasses of wine/mulled wine for $40. Walk in’s ok, bookings not required after 2pm, however please note we may be fully booked and indoor dining is not guaranteed.

Christmas in July Week at Basils! 

July is the perfect time of the year to indulge in a warming, hearty Christmas feast!
On the last week of July, Basils Farm will be celebrating Christmas in July. From Wednesday 24th to Friday 26th of July Basils Cafe will have Christmas dish of the day specials & on the weekend of Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th July, a delicious three-course set menu with a glass of red wine or mulled wine for $38 pp. ($30 without wine).

SET MENU – Weekend of 27th & 28th July. 
Entrée
– Farmhouse vegetable soup with garlic rosemary croutons (Vegan, GF, DF)
– Spiced Jerk Chicken Salad, Rhubarb, almonds and chicory (DF, GF)
Main
– Slow roast pork leg, Apple mustard compote, roasted Brussel sprouts and potato galette (GF)
– Roasted turkey, sweet potato, baby butter potatoes, green beans, herb stuffing and cranberry jus
– Lamb goats cheese roulade, sweet potato mash, greens and green peppercorn sauce (GF)
– Smoked tomato and almond quinoa salad, baby spinach, orange dressing (vegan, GF, DF)
Vegetarian option also available.
Dessert
– Sticky fig and date pudding with vanilla icecream and butterscotch sauce
– Chocolate hazelnut five spice pudding with black cherry sauce and chocolate icecream

Turn Back Time @Basils – Winter Back Vintage Tastings in July. 

At the Cellar Door we are turning back time and dusting off bottles from some of our most popular vintages. From 3-5pm visitors can join our Vineyard Manager to learn more about the distinctive characteristics of these wines and see how well they have aged.

Cost: $10 per person. Includes nibbles to enjoy during tastings.

Tastings to be held on Sunday 13th, 20th & 27th JULY.

Basils Farm “Sunday Sessions” Acoustic Music.

Our live music “Sunday Sessions” are held from September to April and have now finished. Check out our Events page in September to the view the line-up. From September, talented musicians will be performing every Sunday 12.30-3.30pm. Admission is free however bookings are highly recommended.

Fun for the Kids at Basils Farm! Feed the Farm Animals + Lunch.

Our popular Children’s “Meet and Feed the Animal Sessions + Lunch” are held every Thursday* during School Terms 2 & 3 and also every Thursday during the school holidays. (Weather dependent).
*Please note, not held on Public holidays.

Children get to meet and feed the farm animals including llama’s, Babydoll sheep, chickens and ducks and also visit our Chicken Caravan to see how we collect the eggs for our cafe. Registration is from 10.15am for a 10.30am start. Cost: $20 per child (only book in children attending). Includes lunch and a drink. Please see the current children’s menu for an example of meals.

Sessions are limited to 15 children. Please wear suitable footwear for walking around the farm and paddocks. Gumboots are great in the cooler months.

Our tour guides are Mark and Paige who both have working with children checks and love our animals and ensuring that all children have the opportunity to participate!

Artist Trung Truong is currently showcasing his artwork at Basils Farm  This versatile artist’s love of nature shines through and portrays the diverse cultural influence of places he has lived.
