Why did you choose Basils Farm for your wedding?

As soon as we stepped around the cafe we immediately loved the view of Swan Bay and being up on a green hill with vines. We wanted an outdoor farm/winery, relaxed wedding and the Pavilion with windows and views of the bay was perfect! It could also be closed in the evening with heaters. The fire pit with blankets and marshmallow was great, as well as the outdoor dance floor with fairy lights. We loved that Basils Farm grows its own herb and vegetable garden and sources much of its produce locally. Additionally, allowing our dog Narla to be there for the day was also really important to us.

How did you find the planning process?

We planned the wedding in a couple of months and Georgie made the planning process easy. Georgie mapped out everything as to how we wanted, such as small things like the table displays to the timing of the whole event. She was always happy to answer any questions you may have.

What was your favourite moment on your big day?

The Ceremony in front of the vines overlooking Swan Bay with our family and friends. Our dog was the ring bearer, she was so happy!

What are some words of wisdom for future Basils couples? Enjoy the day as it goes very quickly. Take time with your guests and other half, and taste all the delicious food!

How was the service on the night? Is there a particular staff member that you would like to acknowledge?

The service was excellent. The guests mentioned how friendly and accomodating the staff were. Mily was mentioned by a guest, she went home to get her a hairdryer as her dress got wet from the bus seats. We loved how the staff played with the kids and flew kites with them, their attention to detail was second to none. Sean the chef was amazing and catered to all dietary requirements and was happy to add to the dishes. He also made our delicious orange and poppy seed and carrot wedding cake.

Did you enjoy the food on the evening? Is there anything you would have liked to see on our menu?

We loved the food! The prawns and oysters were juicy and fresh! The kid’s menu was perfect. The canapés were amazing, such a large selection they were a big hit. Our favourite dessert was the citrus lemon tart with watermelon.

Do you have any comments/suggestions that you would like to see Basils implement for future events?

Extra hours would be great as it went so quickly.

Any other comments you would like to add?

Thank you for making our wedding day special and everything we wanted. The kids had a ball and loved feeding the llamas. All our guests were amazing and loved Basils Farm.
