Why did you choose Basils Farm for your wedding?

My husband and I moved to the Bellarine Peninsula in 2017 and visited Basil Farm for the first time soon after. We immediately loved the serene and beautiful location. When it came time to find a wedding venue we after somewhere that was local for us, relaxed, had beautiful scenery and good food and with the opportunity to have both the ceremony and reception in one place, so of course, Basil’s Farm was the perfect choice.

How did you find the planning process?

I was surprised by how much planning does go into a wedding even for a fairly casual wedding such as ours, but Talla and the staff were so helpful and guided us through the whole process from start to finish with so much warmth, kindness, direction and fun! The chef/staff were very accommodating to our guests with dietary requirements and made the food planning process fun!

What was your favourite moment on your Big Day?

Seeing all our family and friends in one place, connecting, laughing, dancing and having a fab time.

Can you tell me about your styling inspiration?

We kept it fairly simple with mostly native flower arrangements on wine barrels to frame the ceremony space, flowers in vases on the tables, a flower arrangement above the pavilion door and some candles. We didn’t feel the need to add too much decoration at Basil’s Farm because the venue is already so pretty with the water view, gum trees, veggie patch, fireplace and pavilion green wall.
